Background¶
Lead Edge is a private equity / growth equity firm cited by Kate Hopkins in Ep. 2 as an example of a firm that extensively leverages its LP network for portfolio support and deal sourcing. According to Kate, Lead Edge has approximately 100 independent LPs who are themselves executives and are invested in the fund. The firm uses these LP-executives to advise portfolio companies, assist with prospecting and diligence, and support business development — for example, serving as "a bit of a river guide" when a portfolio company is trying to sell into an LP's industry.
